ASP.NET developer hourly rates - Summary
In the United States of America, an ASP.NET developer may expect an hourly pay of roughly $53 on average, with this number often ranging between $36 and $81/hr. These figures are based on information obtained from Glassdoor.
To get this information, we also looked into ZipRecruiter and Talent.com. The former indicated that the hourly rate range for ASP.NET developers is a little wider than that of Glassdoor, at $24-$75/hr. According to them, the average hourly rate is $50/hr. According to Talent.com, this figure is the same as Glassdoor, at $53/hr, but with a more conservative range of $43-$65/hr.
Factors that affect the ASP.NET developer hourly rate
While the above values are averages for an intermediate level of experience, the ASP.NET developer hourly rate, like all other technologies, is determined by a variety of factors. These are the key ones:
Company location
The company's income is determined by the locations in which they serve and function, and fees are set appropriately. For example, a firm in San Francisco would pay far more than a company in India using a comparable concept. Various branches of a single firm may also pay varying rates based on the cost of living in the regions.
The company's size
In general, larger organizations pay higher hourly rates to developers, but there may be exceptions in this instance, and it is not simply the size.
The developer's address
In addition to the company's location, the developer's location would play a role, particularly in remote jobs. If a developer lives in a high-cost region, it is natural for them to expect a higher hourly rate than their counterparts who live in lower-cost areas.
Soft abilities
Communication and attitude are important factors in determining the candidate's hourly rate. Clear communication is especially important in roles where the developer must actively participate in the entire development process and communicate with the other members of the team.
Experience
As shown in the graph above, one of the most important factors is the developer's experience level, which increases the hourly rate. A senior developer would earn more than a junior developer in the same skill, as expected.
Expertise
The hourly rate of the developer is determined by how well the developer understands the technology they are working with, as well as knowledge of any supporting technologies that can be used.
The project's level of difficulty
When a developer is expected to work on multiple projects, their pay is increased. For example, an ASP.NET developer who also has to know and work on a frontend technology like ReactJS on a high level application that deals with finance would be paid more than an ASP.NET developer who works on a static website.
Getting the best price when hiring ASP.NET developers can be a challenge, but with sufficient research, you can optimize your chances of success.
ASP.NET Developer Salary By Location
The hourly wage for ASP.NET developers varies considerably by region. It costs well into the $30s in countries like Germany and Singapore, but only $9 in Malaysia with rates even going lower in some regions.
As we've already mentioned, though, the lower cost of living in the area means that these rates might not be as bad as they seem.
