Factors that affect the Web developer hourly rate
A Web developer's hourly rate is affected by a number of factors, some of which are as follows:
This factor is discussed in depth in the following section. However, our observations indicate that hourly rates vary greatly from region to region, depending on the cost of living in that location. The hourly rates are affected by both the company's and the developer's location.
Experience and Expertise
Expertise - the hourly rate a developer can expect to earn is affected by how skilled they are and how thoroughly they understand the technology and related tech.
Experience - the number of years of experience of the developer would also determine the hourly rate, as more years of experience would usually warrant a higher rate.
The hourly rate earned by a developer is affected by the industry in which the company operates as well as the demand for the specific technology, and it can vary greatly from one region to the next.
Web Developer Hourly Rate By Location
Our analysis of Web developer rates across various regions on different continents revealed that rates vary by more than a factor of ten in some places. Canada and Germany, for example, have average hourly rates of $20-30/hr, whereas Egypt and India have only $3/hr.
It should be noted that this is based on data collected across years of experience and industries, and that rates may differ for some developers.
